Spelman College fosters a culture where students come first. In the Student Affairs division, we have more than 30 programs, services and experiences that will connect with the lives of every Spelman student during their collegiate career.
The free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to determine your eligibility for federal and state financial aid. The FAFSA is available for you to submit to Spelman College on December 1, 2024. The priority deadline to submit your FAFSA is February 1, 2025. The Office of Financial Aid plans to release award letters by March 1, 2025.
To secure your spot at Spelman, you must submit the Enrollment Confirmation Form and pay a $500 non-refundable deposit. The Enrollment Confirmation Form is located on your SpelCheck portal. Directions on submitting your deposit will follow via email. First Year Deadline: May 1 Transfer Deadline: July 1
After submitting your deposit, you will have access to your New Student Checklist. Monitor the checklist regularly to ensure you complete all the necessary steps before the start of the semester.
Apply for on-campus housing if you plan to live on campus. You can view the housing dashboard to see your options and submit your application. The Housing Application will open on April 1, 2025 and the deadline to submit is May 7, 2025.
All admitted students are considered for merit scholarships at Spelman during the admissions process. Save the Date for SpelBound, April 26, 2025. SpelBound is a unique one-day experience designed as a special introduction for our newly admitted students and their families.

Submit Test Scores and Final High School Transcript
Submit your AP scores, IB scores, dual enrollment transcripts, and your official high school transcript to Spelman College no later than July 1, 2025. This information will be used ahead of New Student Orientation to determine what courses may be evaluated for college credit. Official scores should be sent from the testing provider. Official high school transcripts should be submitted by mail or through a verified electronic submission platform.
New Student Orientation (NSO) facilitates the smooth transition of new students into the Spelman College community by introducing all students to Spelman’s educational mission, history, academic advisement, course registration, and other unique opportunities. NSO is held in August and is managed by the Office of Undergraduate Studies. Information about New Student Orientation will be updated on the New Student Checklist in June 2025.
