Step-Care Model
How Our Step Care Model Works
The Counseling Center follows a Step Care Model for delivering the most effective and least resource-intensive treatment. This approach was adopted because it helps to empower students to step up or down the levels of care based on their mental health needs.
Examples of the least intensive care would include items from the self-help library or online modules. This level of care is for students seeking self-help options. Examples of moderate interventions would include support groups or solution-focused therapy, while crisis interventions would be the most resource-intensive level of treatment.
