Spelman Scholarship Application Portal (Current Enrolled Students)

The Spelman Scholarship Application Portal is a matching system that maximizes students' opportunities and helps them connect with as many scholarship opportunities as possible. Once the student applies, the scholarship portal will automatically match students with eligible scholarships. Some scholarships may require an additional application and/or materials; if so, the student will be prompted to submit more information. The application will generally take less than 15 minutes to complete.

1. You must access the Spelman Scholarship Application Portal.
2. Click on “Apply Now” under the students tab.
3. Enter your One Spelman username and password to log in.
4. Answer ALL questions to build your profile and match you to eligible scholarships.

Fall semester scholarship consideration requires current enrolled students to submit a Spelman College scholarship application by May 15. Applications submitted after May 15 will not be considered for the Fall semester.

An official FAFSA must be received (including all verification documentation, if applicable). The Student Aid Index (SAI) is required for consideration of most scholarships available at Spelman. 

The Spelman College Scholarship Committee will notify students of first-round scholarship offers by July 10^th. Yet, scholarship consideration is ongoing throughout the academic year. As new scholarship opportunities become available, they will be updated throughout the year.

Institutional Scholarship Eligibility Policy

Degree Completion and Commencement Participation Limitation
Policy Statement
Institutional scholarships are awarded to support students in the pursuit and completion of their first undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree. Institutional scholarship eligibility concludes upon degree completion or participation in commencement, whichever occurs first.

Eligibility Termination
A student becomes ineligible for institutional scholarship funding upon the earliest occurrence of either of the following:

Completion of Degree Requirements

• Award funding for a maximum of 8 semesters.
• Fulfillment of all academic requirements necessary for the awarding of a bachelor’s degree, whether the degree has been formally conferred, or
• Official conferral of a bachelor’s degree by Spelman College or any other accredited college or university.

Participation in Commencement
Participation in a commencement ceremony recognizing completion of undergraduate degree requirements, regardless of whether final grades have been posted or the degree has been officially conferred at the time of the ceremony.

Institutional scholarship eligibility ends immediately upon the occurrence of either condition above. This policy applies to all institutional scholarships and institutional grants funded directly by the College. The Scholarship Manager or Director can approve exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

Institutional Scholarship Renewal and Approved Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal

Institutional scholarship renewal remains subject to the specific terms and conditions of the scholarship renewal criteria, including cumulative GPA, completion rate, enrollment status, and any other required renewal criteria.
