As an institution that prepares students to lead in a global, tech-driven society, we believe in embracing innovation thoughtfully. If you choose to use AI to assist with your application, such as brainstorming essay topics or refining grammar, you are expected to maintain full ownership of your work.

Application materials that appear overly generalized, lack personal insight, or read like content generated by tools rather than written by the applicant may limit our ability to fully understand your potential and your fit for the Spelman community.

The admissions process at Spelman is a conversation with a community that values your truth and individuality. We want to hear your voice, your vision, and your commitment to sisterhood and social change. If AI is part of your writing process, we ask that you engage with it critically and remain grounded in your own story. The most compelling applications we receive are not perfect.
