Spelman has always maintained its own space within the larger Morehouse Tailgate row. Due to current construction projects on campus, we have had to shift our location. This year, our space will be larger and will provide our alumnae and guests the opportunity to spread out in a comfortable environment with plenty of seating and entertainment.

The safety of our alumnae, students, faculty/staff, parents, and friends is of the utmost concern.
Therefore, additional Public Safety staff is required to manage the anticipated crowd. In addition, an increase of housekeeping staff will be needed to maintain the cleanliness of our buildings and restrooms as we continue to navigate through COVID. This is not a revenue generating tactic by any means, it will simply allow us to provide the service and care required for the safety of our community, which is an increase that our budgets are unable to sustain.

The general admission fee gives our alumnae and guests access to our campus facilities, seating, food trucks, kid friendly activities, space away from the crowd, music and a place to fellowship. The Forever Blue Experience includes all above plus a catered BBQ meal.

Spelman Tailgate wristbands will be available to pick up onsite, Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at the main gate off Lee Street.

Yes, a limited number of tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, October 21, 2022, during the Welcome Home Alumnae Check-In and Saturday, Oct. 23, 2022, during tailgate.

SpelBucks are valid only on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at the food trucks that will be stationed on Spelman's campus.

No, each tailgate area is separate. However, Spelman College will have a check-in tent on Morehouse’s Tailgate Row where you can make your annual gift and receive your homecoming souvenir.

Yes, we will have a variety of games, crafts and fun for children of all ages.

Due to the volume of traffic anticipated in the area, it is difficult to designate a stop where ride share vehicles can stop. Public Safety recommends those using rideshare to have their drivers pick up and drop off at the corner of Chapel Street and Westview Drive, SW, and the intersection of West End and Lowery Blvd.

Yes, access to the bookstore is free throughout the week of Homecoming 2022, however, to gain access on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, will require the admission fee to come on Spelman’s campus. 

Access to campus facilities is limited to Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumnae/Guests who paid the admission fee. However, portable restrooms will be available outside the Main Gate of Spelman’s campus. 

No, current Spelman College students, faculty and staff will have their usual access to campus. 

Due to the growth and expansion of our campus buildings, major construction projects have taken several parking spaces off-line. Therefore, Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, campus parking will be limited to individuals who are currently enrolled in Spelman's parking program. We highly encourage the use of MARTA, utilizing the West End train station. Visit the MARTA website to find the best route for you. Morehouse School of Medicine will allow parking in their deck on Saturday, Oct. 22, for $20.00.
