The mission of the Teaching Resource and Research Center (TRRC) is to support a campus community that promotes and disseminates innovative and effective teaching practices. Towards this end, the TRRC offers several workshop series and supports faculty discussion groups throughout the year. Topics have included: using technology in the classroom (including genAI), incorporating interdisciplinarity into the classroom, developing writing-intensive courses, contemplative pedagogy, online teaching, and assessment strategies. In addition, the TRRC offers summer workshops that train faculty in pedagogical best practices.
Another goal is for the TRRC website to serve as a resource for Spelman faculty, offering links to videos, articles, blogs, and other resources to help Spelman faculty with innovation, improvement, and dissemination of their teaching strategies. For example, check out the training videos below, created to assist you with using Canvas LMS. Look for TRRC communications that detail development training and interest group sessions throughout the academic year and summer. Whether you are a novice or an expert, the TRRC is here to support your journey as a Spelman educator.

The TRRC Advisory Board is a dedicated group of faculty members who are passionate about advancing excellence in teaching, learning, and innovation. Serving as thought partners, they help guide the direction of faculty development initiatives, provide feedback on programming, and foster a collaborative culture of continuous improvement across campus. This board represents a diverse range of disciplines and perspectives, ensuring our work remains responsive to the evolving needs of our academic community.
