Undergraduate Research and Training Programs
Talent Development
Undergraduate Research and Training Programs (URTP) is primarily responsible for coordinating all undergraduate research and creative pursuits at the College and developing strategies to increase student involvement in scholarly activities.
The URTP office works collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to support the scholarly engagement of undergraduates from all divisions through activities such as mentor pairing, professional development workshops, RCR (Responsible Conduct in Research) Training, Research Day planning, and student research engagement data collection.
What is Research?
Research isn’t limited to the lab; it can take many forms across a wide range of fields. At Spelman College, undergraduate research includes the humanities, social sciences, arts, STEM disciplines, and more. Whether you're exploring historical archives, community projects, or digital media, there’s a place for your curiosity. The Undergraduate Research & Training Programs Unit is here to support you with resources, mentors, and opportunities to guide your unique path.
