Simone Moales, C’2025, will earn her degree in political science with a Spanish minor at Spelman College. From an early age, Moales, the Bridgeport, Connecticut native was inspired by the legacy of faith and service passed down by her parents, Pastor Kenneth Moales Jr. and first lady Ena Moales and her grandfather, the late Bishop Kenneth Moales Sr. Raised in a family deeply committed to both ministry and community empowerment, she now serves as a college leader at Spirit and Truth Church under the leadership of Pastor Mark Moore, Jr. She proudly embraces her family’s legacy by helping to shape spiritually grounded students across the Atlanta University Center. Moales’s sense of purpose has always been guided by the belief that faith, service, and advocacy are essential to driving lasting change.
While at Spelman, Moales served as the 83rd president of the Student Government Association, where she worked to uplift her peers, drive transparency, and ensure that student voices are heard. Beyond her role in SGA, Moales participated in the Spelman College Glee Club, Speech and Debate Team, and Eta Kappa Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
Her leadership extends beyond campus. She has worked in government affairs as a legislative intern for Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and a congressional intern for Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05). As a White House advance associate, Moales supported President Biden, Vice President Harris, and First Lady Biden on their travels, amplifying her commitment to equitable policy and public service. Moales’ passion for law has taken her across borders and courtrooms — real and simulated.
While studying at the Sorbonne University in Paris through Cornell’s Pre-Law Program, she explored the complexities of international law and the global implications of the death penalty. That same spirit of inquiry drives her work on the Morehouse Moot Court Team, where she sharpened her legal reasoning and advocacy skills, advancing to the semifinal round of the 2025 AMCA National Tournament. Whether abroad or at the podium, Simone approaches the law as a discipline and a powerful tool for justice.
After graduation, Moales plans to pursue a law and public policy career, blending her faith, leadership, and advocacy to create a more just and equitable society. Whether standing behind a podium, organizing students, or leading in the pews, Moales remains committed to a singular mission: to bridge the people and the policies that shape their lives.
