The Computer Science Summer Program is a no-cost 6-week residential program for entering first-year students who are interested in learning more about computer science and how it impacts all aspects of our everyday lives. The program also provides a $1500 stipend and up to $500 for out-of-state travel expenses. The Computer Science Summer Program is only for students who will be enrolled as full-time students at Spelman College in August 2025.
The Computer Science Summer Program is a 6-week academically intensive residential program for entering first-year students who are interested in learning more about computer science and how it impacts all aspects of our everyday lives. The program includes mathematics preparation designed to shape and enhance algorithmic thinking skills, a credit-bearing course in computer science, and applied workshops in cybersecurity, robotics, and data analytics directed by Spelman faculty/staff. There will also be targeted tutoring by student peer mentors and college preparation through enrichment activities. The program covers the full cost for student participants (tuition, e-books, materials, room and board and other resources) and provides a $1500 stipend and up to $500 for out-of-state travel expenses.
