WiSTEM Six-Week Summer Bridge Program
Details:
June 7 – July 17, 2026 | Six-week Bridge Program
- Two courses for credit, one in mathematics (precalculus or calculus) and one in computer programming or English
- Hands-on work with faculty on applied project modules
- Enrichment in college preparedness, professional skills, and communication skills
- The summer program is at no cost to participants. Participants will receive a $500 stipend at the end of the summer
August 2026 – May 2027 | Academic Year Living and Learning Community
- Preferred housing in a dedicated Living & Learning Community (LLC)
- Academic advising by program staff and faculty
- Interaction with mentors in the discipline, especially women of color
Requirements:
- All program participants are expected to enroll at Spelman College in Fall 2026 in a STEM or economics major. Only students who have deposited will be accepted into WiSTEM.
- All program participants are expected to reside in the WiSTEM academic year living community
- Program participants must enroll as a major in one of the listed disciplines: mathematics, computer science, dual degree engineering, physics, chemistry/biochemistry, environmental science, biology, or economics
