Spelman College publications collection includes catalogs, bulletins, pamphlets, brochures, yearbooks, the Campus Mirror, Spelman Spotlight, Spelman Messenger, and other publications produced by the College.
Background info: SAGE was co-edited by Professor Beverly Guy-Sheftall and Patricia Bell-Scott. The collection was published twice a year from 1984 - 1995 at Spelman College with critical essays, articles, interviews, book reviews, etc. The purpose is to provide an interdisciplinary forum discussing issues related to Black Women, to promote feminist scholarship, and to disseminate “new knowledge about black women to a broader audience”
The Passing It Forward Project is an archive of 150 interviews with LGBTQ+ elders of color conducted by interviewers of around college age. This collection of rich oral history links the personal stories of LGBTQ+ elders of color --those around 50 years old and above-- to the political and social movements they are connected to. These intergenerational conversations allow this growing and important population to reflect on their life and wisdom. By doing so, this project provides a venue to allow these individuals to educate and inspire.
The Heirloom Gardens Oral History Project is a collaboration between Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance, Princeton University, and Spelman College. The project documents stories of people who have been working to preserve Black and Indigenous seeds and foodways.

In 2017, The Spelman Archives were a proud participant on a major digital archives project. Our Story is a two and a half-year, collaborative grant funded project between the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library, Spelman College Archives, and the Digital Library of Georgia (DLG). Through AUC Woodruff Library’s digital portal RADAR and the DLG, this project will broaden access to unique publications, periodicals, theses, dissertations and photographs documenting the history of the AUC – the largest consortium of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The digital collection includes materials from the following schools and relate to various aspects of African American higher education directly after emancipation of slavery through to the 21st Century: Atlanta University, Clark College, Clark Atlanta University, Gammon Theological Seminary, Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College, Morris Brown College, and Spelman College.
Spelman Archives materials digitized for the project include publications such as the yearbooks and Spelman Messenger, and photographs covering various topics such as commencement and the Drama & Dance Department.
