Todd Studebaker was the Production Manager and Academic Advisor for the Theatre BIS in Design and Production at Georgia State University for over 25 years. Todd received his MFA in Theatre Design and Technology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and his BA in Theatre with Honors from Lenoir-Rhyne College. As an educator Todd has taught classes in Lighting Design, Technical Production, Drafting, Drawing and Rendering and Stage Management. Todd has been the advisor to the Players at GSU for over 15 years and won several awards from his peers at Georgia State University. Todd has Designed, Technical Directed, Production Managed, and worked on over 500 productions at Georgia State University in the past 25 plus years. Todd has served on the Lighting commission board since 1998. Todd started out as the Student Coordinator for the Light Lab in Long Beach in 1998. Then he became the Vice-Commissioner and Liaison to the Safety and Health Commission in 2001. Todd chaired several panels including Lamp Fatigue New Orleans 2002, Green Lighting USITT Long Beach 2004 and Fall Protection for Lighting: What to wear Toronto 2005. In 2006, Todd became the PDW coordinator for Advanced Indoor Pyrotechnics Louisville 2006 and chaired the Panel on “So you want to use Pyrotechnics in your next show” Louisville 2006. Then in 2007-08 Todd was the Lighting Commission Vice-Commissioner for Programming Houston and again in 2008-09 for Kansas City. Lately, Todd has been helping the Lighting Commission in several ways. He has served as the Lighting Commission Vice-Commissioner for Special Projects from 2010-2014 and as a Committee Member for the Lighting Compendium “Practical Projects for Teaching Lighting Design”: A Compendium, Volume 2, 2014-2016.
