As the director of Financial Aid at Spelman College, Lisa Berrien leads the administration of federal, state and institutional aid programs. She oversees the daily operations of the Financial Aid Office, ensuring that every student has the financial resources necessary to achieve their educational goals.
With over 30 years of experience, Berrien previously served as the senior associate director in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at Georgia Institute of Technology, where she managed operations and compliance. After a distinguished career with the University System of Georgia, she retired from Georgia Tech in July 2023 and brought her wealth of expertise to Spelman.
Berrian is a dedicated advocate for student success and remains deeply involved in state, regional, and national professional organizations. She holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from Georgia State University and a Master of Education in Higher Education from Northeastern University.
