Larry Thomas, Jr. is currently serving as the Assistant Director of Career Planning & Development, where his commitment to empowering young people to achieve their life goals is at the core of his work. Driven by a passion for supporting students in realizing their potential, Larry has dedicated over two decades to higher education.
His career began as a Senior Admissions Counselor and Recruiter, where he spent 15 years guiding students through the process of pursuing their academic dreams. Over the next four years, Larry worked with TRiO Student Support Services, supporting first-generation, low-income, and disabled students in accessing the resources they needed to successfully navigate the challenges of college life. For the past three years, he has helped students connect the dots between their studies and their long-term career aspirations, ensuring that their education aligns with their professional goals.
With 22 years of experience in higher education, Larry’s mission has been clear: to help students achieve success and build a future full of opportunity.
Larry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Paine College (2003), a Master of Public Administration in Non-Profit Management from Kentucky State University (2013), and a Master’s Certificate in Technology and Design from Georgia State University (2019). His diverse educational background and extensive experience make him a passionate advocate for students at every stage of their academic and professional journeys.
