Deeply passionate and driven about issues that affect justice and equity, Purdue spent her undergraduate years researching the intersectionality of race, gender, class, and the criminal justice system, culminating in a senior thesis that centers on Black women's experiences with policing in the United States.
Purdy's academic excellence is complemented by her campus and community involvement. She has served as membership chair of the “Sweet” Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and has also been a dedicated member of both Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, where she has served as publicity chair and secretary, as well as the Morehouse-Spelman Pre-Law Society. With a strong foundation in service and sisterhood, Purdy has served all four years through SpelREADS and Spelman Ambassadors. Upon graduation, Purdy plans to pursue a legal degree at a top law school.
