Sydney Scott, C'2025, a biochemistry major from Lawrenceville, Georgia, is a proud Presidential Scholar at Spelman College. As a member of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program and the Phi Beta Kappa Society, she demonstrates a commitment to academic excellence.
Her dedication to leadership and scholarship is further exemplified through her extracurricular engagements. She is a founding member and dedicated violinist of the Spelman Chamber Players, performing for four consecutive years. She also serves as the corresponding secretary of the “Sweet” Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and co–vice president of the Chemistry Club.
Scott has been a committed tutor in the Chemistry Learning Center for the past three years, supporting her peers in their general and organic chemistry coursework. Passionate about scientific discovery, Sydney has conducted summer research at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and Princeton University. After graduation, Scott will pursue a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania.
