Passionate About Mentoring and Community Engagement

Adelle DurandAdelle Durand, C'2025, is a biology major, with a strong interest in microbiological research. As a first-generation college student and an international student hailing from Wesley, Dominica, she has combined her academic journey with a passion for mentoring and community engagement.

Durand's undergraduate research focused on investigating the impact of alcoholism and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in colorectal cancer disparities, as well as exploring the role of microRNAs in the pathological outcomes of Chlamydia infection. She has also served as an organic chemistry and molecular biology and genomics tutor. A Dovey Rountree Scholar and member of Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Societies, Durand plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Biology after graduation.
