Quincy Wilson, C'2027, is a sophomore health sciences major on the pre-medicine track from Madison, Alabama. She plans to attend medical school to become an OB/GYN to address health disparities in Black maternal health and improve adolescent reproductive education.
Last summer, Wilson participated in the Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she engaged in clinical experiences, academic enrichment, and leadership development. She now serves as a SHPEP ambassador, mentoring prospective students and promoting pathways to healthcare careers.
Wilson is grateful to be a member of the Health Careers Opportunities Pipeline Preparation Program (HCOPPP). She is an active member of the Spelman College Health Careers Club and the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS). Wilson also serves as a Labor Support Volunteer Student Coordinator at Emory Decatur Hospital (EDH), where she helps manage a group of volunteers who provide hands-on assistance to expectant mothers during labor and delivery.
In this role, she is also conducting research with EDH on the impact of the Labor Support Volunteer Program, furthering her commitment to maternal health advocacy. She is currently training to obtain her Perinatal Patient Navigator (PPN) certification through the LAMIS Women’s Health Leadership Institute, equipping her with the skills to support patients throughout pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care.
