Khamanie Dorsainin's Impact on Healthcare Equality

Spelman HCOPPP Scholar Khamanie DorsainrreKhamanie Dorsainrre, C'2027, is a sophomore health science major from South Florida with a passion for research and healthcare equity. As an Advancing Student Potential for Inclusion in Research Experiences (ASPIRE) program scholar, Dorsainrre conducted research on the Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor and its relationship with signaling in Glenn circulation in patients with single-ventricle congenital heart disease. She later presented her research at the WISER conference in October and the 100th Annual American Heart Association Conference in November. Committed to addressing health disparities, particularly among Black women, Dorsainrre aspires to obtain an MD-PhD to further research and develop solutions that promote equitable healthcare access and outcomes.
