HCOPPP Scholar: Grier Francis

Championing Nutrition as a Tool for Healing

Grier Francis, C'2026, is a psychology major on the pre-medicine track from Orlando, Florida. Over the summer, she worked under a registered dietician with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), assisting with editing recipes, completing development sheets, and creating table reviews for school lunches. As an aspiring physician, she aims to use nutrition as her foundation in treating patients to treat many of the health disparities the Black community faces in conditions like hypertension, high blood pressure, diabetes, and cancer. Through her passion for science and nutrition, Francis aims to use her knowledge to empower and educate Black communities, contribute to disease prevention, and reduce mortality rates to foster healthier and more equitable outcomes within our population.
