HCOPPP Scholar: Christian Scott

Skin Health Advocacy, A Future Leader in Dermatology

Christian Scott, C'2027, is a health sciences major on the pre-medicine track at Spelman College and a member of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program. She has a passion for dermatology and is committed to addressing skin health disparities and ensuring that patients feel empowered in their skincare journeys.

Beyond the classroom, Scott is actively engaged in leadership and service. She is a member of the Health Careers Club. She participates in the Perinatal Patient Navigator (PPN) Program, gaining hands-on experience in patient-centered care and maternal health advocacy. Her dedication to academic excellence and professional growth led her to pursue membership in a pre-health professional honor society.

Scott's journey in dermatology began with a personal mission to educate and uplift her community. She founded a beauty supply store in her hometown of Wisconsin, where she researched and tested products while fostering meaningful conversations about hair and beauty. Scott continues this passion at Spelman, blending her scientific curiosity with a desire to promote positive social change. Scott aspires to run a small dermatology clinic. She is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care while addressing my community's unique skin and hair concerns.

"My time at Spelman has shaped me into a well-rounded scholar and advocate, and I look forward to making a lasting impact in medicine," Scott wrote.
