HCOPPP Scholar: Ashe’ Kelsey
The Path of a Future Physical Therapist
As an Health Career Opportunities Pipeline Preparation Program (HCOPPP) scholar, Ashe’ Kelsey, C’2026, is learning how to prepare herself for professional success. Kelsey had an opportunity to study abroad during the summer of 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa, where she became academically and culturally involved within the South African community. A psychology major on the pre-medical track, with a minor in dance performance, Kelsey also served as a sports science intern at Duke University Sports Science Institute this past summer. Kelsey has served as publicity chair on the Health Careers Club executive board and plans to earn a doctorate in physical therapy and Kinesiology -- two areas that combine her passion for sports medicine. With an interest in physical therapy and rehabilitation, the Raleigh, North Carolina native is interested in biomedical research in Kinesiology.
