HCOPPP Scholar: Alexandria Dabney
A Childhood Dream of Helping Others
Since she was a child, Alexandria Dabney, C'2026, has always wanted to positively impact others, no matter how big or small. She wants people to be educated about their bodies and have access to the care needed to close gaps within the healthcare system and the medical mistrust between healthcare professionals and patients. Because of her desires, she was accepted into Boston University’s Early Medical School Selection Program, which will assist her in matriculating into their medical school.
"As a young child, I had a desire to make a change that could significantly impact others in the future. I want to uplift minority communities by promoting public health strategies and community engagement to increase awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), said the Ethel Waddel Githii Honors Program member. "My efforts to slow the progression of AD will positively impact all minorities by narrowing the knowledge and detection gaps, promoting and advancing new treatments, and raising awareness for earlier diagnoses. I am currently open to research opportunities."
During her free time, Dabney enjoys photography and spending time with friends and family.
