The College’s Next President
The Spelman College Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Dr. Ayanna Howard as the College’s 12th president. A nationally recognized expert in robotics, artificial intelligence and human-centered technology, Dr. Howard brings a distinguished record of leadership across higher education, industry, entrepreneurship and government.
Presidential Prospectus
The prospectus is much more than a job description. It is a comprehensive narrative of Spelman’s current standing and a roadmap for its future. It outlines the specific challenges and opportunities our 12th President will address and includes a description of the professional qualifications and personal values required to lead our community.
Our search partner, Isaacson, Miller, will share this prospectus with potential candidates to articulate why Spelman is the most compelling leadership opportunity in higher education today. The Presidential Search and Nomination Committee (PSNC) will use the criteria established in the prospectus as the "gold standard" against which all applicants are vetted.
