Join us for an intimate fireside chat with internationally acclaimed filmmaker Dash and distinguished film and television director and Spelman Professor Emerita Ayoka Chenzira, Ph.D. The conversation will explore Dash's groundbreaking career, creative vision and enduring impact on film, television and culture.
An Emmy-nominated filmmaker and director of the Netflix documentary Wanda Sykes: Legacy, Dash has spent more than 30 years shaping the landscape of American cinema and television through her pioneering storytelling. The celebration event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the Mary Schmidt Campbell Center for Innovation & the Arts. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
