Sweet Dreams Film Screening, Drumming Experience and Ice Cream Social
Join Spelman College's Center for Innovation & the Arts for a free community screening of "Sweet Dreams," an inspiring documentary about Rwanda's first and only women's drumming troupe. The film tells the story of a remarkable group of women who dare to dream of new possibilities for themselves and their country, using music, resilience and entrepreneurship to transform their lives and communities.
Following the screening, guests are invited to participate in a drumming lesson and performance led by Sister Omelika Kuumba and the Metropolitan Atlanta African Dancers & Drummers. The afternoon will conclude with an ice cream social on the CI&A lawn featuring Aiskrimu Ice Cream Bar, a Southwest Atlanta favorite. Bring your drums, connect with the community and enjoy an afternoon of culture, conversation and celebration.
