Gabrielle Harris, C'2026

Generic Spelman Logo 300x300Gabrielle Harris, C'2026, is a Presidential Scholar majoring in Comparative Women’s Studies and Political Science from Richmond, Virginia. She is also a member of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program and Phi Beta Kappa.

Harris proudly serves as President of Spelman Democrats and is a member of the Deliberative Exchange team. She demonstrates her commitment to academic excellence by mentoring with the Girl Power Foundation and Raising Expectations.

Harris’s determination to advance educational equity through policy and advocacy led her to become a YWCA Georgia Women’s Policy Institute and intern with the Brookings Institution Brown Center on Education Policy. She further pursued this interest as a 2025 Yale Undergraduate Liman Summer Fellow and intern at Brown’s Promise. Harris broadened her policy exposure as a legal intern at Seyfarth Shaw, LLP. Harris puts this knowledge to work leading civic engagement activities as chair of Advocate for Social Justice committee of the “Sweet” Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

After graduation, Harris will expand educational opportunities for students in Baltimore, Maryland with Teach for America. Following this experience, Harris plans to attend law school. Harris aims to translate her practical education experience into transformative educational policy.
