Biology
The Spelman College Arboretum was founded in 2024 by a group of faculty, staff, and students to showcase the natural features of Spelman’s campus. The goal of the Spelman Arboretum is to provide learning and field research opportunities for students that also help them engage with Spelman’s living history on campus. Furthermore, the project is also assessing the ecosystem services, such as carbon sequestration and stormwater run-off, that are provided by trees on campus. Check out the map below to learn more about our trees!
How to Use: Click an individual tree to learn more about it, including its species, size, and key ecosystem services.
