Bailey A. Brown is an assistant professor of Sociology in the Sociology and Anthropology Department at Spelman College. Brown researches and teaches on the sociology of education, research methods, urban sociology, race and ethnicity, and inequality. Prior to her position at Spelman, Brown was a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton University. She holds a PhD, a MPhil, and an M.A. in sociology from Columbia University and a B.A. in sociology with minors in urban education and Africana studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Brown was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, a Leadership Alliance Fellow, graduated cum laude, and received top departmental honors for her senior thesis.View Dr. Bailey Brown's Website
