Achieve Atlanta Selects Spelman Student for Inaugural Committee 

Spelman Student Selected to Help Shape Achieve Atlanta’s Strategy and Amplify Scholar Perspectives Across Atlanta

Delaney DeShields, C’2029, was recently selected to serve on Achieve Atlanta's inaugural Scholar Advisory Committee. The committee was created to ensure scholar perspectives and experiences are reflected in Achieve Atlanta’s strategy to strengthen impact across Atlanta.

The inaugural committee comprises scholars who demonstrate strong leadership by uniting and using their voices to amplify Achieve Atlanta’s impact across Atlanta. In August, Delaney joined her fellow scholars for the Achieve Atlanta Scholar Advisory Committee Global Scholars Summit, a weeklong leadership development where they developed their leadership skills through a series of seminars, group discussions and experiential learning activities.

Achieve Atlanta is a non-profit organization in Georgia that helps students from public high schools access, afford and graduate from college or technical programs. Founded in 2015, its goal is to ensure that race and family income do not determine a student's chance at college success and upward mobility.
