eSpelman Launches “Ascent by eSpelman” Series to Expand Access to Industry-Led Learning
A new virtual series connects learners to industry experts and expands access to career-focused education through eSpelman.
Each year, Spelman College prepares students to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose. That commitment does not end at graduation. It extends to learners at every stage who are seeking to grow, shift, and move forward in their careers.
As the landscape of higher education continues to evolve, Spelman College is expanding how and where learning happens. Through eSpelman, the College is creating new pathways for individuals seeking to elevate their skills, explore new industries, and take ownership of their professional growth.
This spring, eSpelman introduces Ascent by eSpelman, a virtual learning series designed to connect adult learners with industry leaders across a range of in-demand fields. The series reflects Spelman’s continued commitment to preparing learners not only for where they are, but for where they are going next.
eSpelman is designed for adult learners and is not available to currently enrolled Spelman students. The platform serves working professionals, career changers, and lifelong learners looking to deepen their expertise or explore new career pathways with the guidance of experienced practitioners
"Ascent by eSpelman represents an important step in how we expand access to Spelman’s academic excellence beyond the traditional classroom,” said Dr. Maléka Ingram, C’95 associate vice president of Digital Learning Initiatives at Spelman College. “We are excited to create opportunities for learners to engage directly with industry experts, gain relevant insights, and take meaningful steps toward their next professional chapter.”
The series will highlight areas of study offered through eSpelman’s certificate programs, including project management, business communication, business essentials, cosmetic science, leadership and organizational development. Each session is designed to introduce participants to the field, provide a real-world perspective, and offer a clear view of potential career pathways.
Through Ascent, eSpelman will continue to introduce its growing audience to leading voices and practitioners, offering a space to gain insight into how industries are evolving and what it takes to succeed within them. The series serves as both an entry point for those exploring new directions and a resource for those ready to deepen their expertise.
The inaugural session for Ascent by eSpelman, Project Management: Real World Experiences and Expectations, will take place April 28, 2026, at 7p.m. and will feature a panel of industry experts sharing insights on career pathways, industry trends, and the skills needed to succeed in the field.
As eSpelman continues to grow, Ascent reflects a broader vision, creating opportunities for learners of all genders, races, and backgrounds to continue building, learning, and leading at every stage of their journey.
