Echoes of the Storm
The Mary Schmidt Campbell Center for Innovation and the Arts, in partnership with the National Black Arts Festival, the Apollo Theatre and Junebug Productions, presents Echoes of the Storm.
Presented as stage readings, these six 10-minute plays utilize intimate storytelling and documentary-style narratives to reflect on the long-lasting impact of Hurricane Katrina on communities and cultural identity. Directed by Spelman College’s senior instructor in the Theatre and Performance department, Ms. Aku Kagodo, there are three scheduled performances:
Opening night – Friday, March 20, 2026
Saturday matinee – Saturday, March 21, 2026
Saturday evening – Saturday, March 21, 2026
There will be a talkback to highlight the importance of sustaining Southern Theatre. This session may be attached to the matinee performance. Tickets cost $10.00 each.
