Study in the Sun

Study in the Sun

“Study in the Sun” is a student engagement initiative designed to provide a supportive, relaxed, and productive environment for students preparing for final exams. The goal is to encourage academic focus while also promoting wellness, community, and balance during a high-stress time in the semester. This will be a drop-in outdoor study session where students can come and go as needed, with a structured yet flexible study environment. The event will incorporate elements that support both productivity and mental reset, including designated study periods and intentional break moments.

What to Expect:

  • Outdoor study setup with picnic tables
  • Light music to create a welcoming atmosphere
  • Snacks and light finger foods
  • Structured “study and reset” breaks throughout the event
  • Giveaways and incentives to encourage participation

Date: April 28
Time: 1 - 4 p.m.
Location: Spelman College Amphitheater (outdoor setting)

The event is open to all Spelman College students across all majors and class years. Hosted by the Center of Excellence for Black Women in STEM (COE) in partnership with the Student Government Association (SGA).
