Please join me in recognizing and thanking our college's dedicated essential workers – Spelman College Department of Public Safety, Spelman College Division of Student Affairs, Facilities Management and Services (FMS), and Bon Appetit – for jumping into action during Tropical Storm Helene. Despite severe weather threatening to upend our campus operations, these teams came together to support our students, our grounds, and each other. Thank you for helping us weather this storm!
I also want to extend a thank you to our students and families for your patience, cooperation, and adaptability during this time. And thank you faculty for pivoting quickly to support our academic mission.

With clean-up and restoration efforts already underway, our college facilities will resume normal operations effective Monday, September 30 at 8 a.m. The AUC Woodruff Library will reopen Monday at 9 a.m.
We also invite all who want to join us for Sunday Worship in Sisters Chapel on Sunday, September 29 at 1 p.m.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to campus on Monday and being able to focus on the work ahead of us.
