Are you a sophomore with a minimum 3.0 GPA and interested in studying abroad during your junior year? Planning to travel in Spring 2026 and need guidance on next steps, pre-departure requirements, or working with your program provider? Interested in short-term programs like a January Term in Paris? Join us for a week full of events designed to prepare you for an unforgettable global experience.

Monday, August 25: Semester Study Abroad Open House
Location: Suites Private Dining Room
Time: 11 a.m – 1:45 p.m
Meet with study abroad advisors, get your questions answered, and learn more about your options and requirements for semester and short-term programs

Monday, August 25: Program Provider Info Session – SIT
Location: Science Center 203 | Time: 2 p.m – 4 p.m
Marketing Table: Upper Manley Student Center | Time: 11 a.m – 1 p.m
Join Ms. Ebony Ellis to learn about SIT’s immersive, experiential learning programs around the world.



Tuesday, August 26: Study Abroad 101 and Ambassador Q/A
Location: Suites Private Dining Room
Time: 11 a.m – 1 p.m
Learn the basics of semester study abroad including eligibility, the application process, and key timelines. Hear directly from Study Abroad Ambassadors who will share their experiences and tips for success.

Tuesday, August 26: Program Provider Info Session – IFSA

Wednesday, August 27: Financing Study Abroad and Gilman Scholarship 101
Location: Suites Private Dining Room
Time: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m
Join Dr. Karen Clay, Director for Semester Study Abroad, to explore funding options for your global journey. Learn about scholarships, financial aid, and budgeting strategies, and get guidance on applying for the Gilman Scholarship and other financial resources.

Wednesday, August 27: Program Provider Info Session – INSTEP (UK)
Location: Science Center 203
Time: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m
Ideal for Economics and Political Science majors, learn about INSTEP’s specialized programs in economic and political studies with Mr. Steve Seaworth.



Thursday, August 28: Returning Student Roundtable
Location: Suites Private Dining Room
Time: 4 p.m. – 5 p.m
A reflective debriefing session exclusively for students who studied abroad in Spring and Summer 2025. Share your insights, challenges, and lessons learned with fellow Spelman scholars.

Friday, August 29: G-STEM Awareness Day

Time: 11 a.m. and 12 p.m
Learn about global undergraduate research opportunities through the G-STEM program. Meet Dr. Kai McCormack, Director of G-STEM, and explore how to integrate study abroad into your STEM major.
