Top 10 Graduate, Sydney Victoria Scott, C'2025Sydney Victoria Scott, C'2025, a senior biochemistry major, has distinguished herself through a remarkable commitment to academic excellence, undergraduate research and peer support. A member of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program and a Spelman Presidential Scholar, Scott has conducted advanced research in the Brown Lab, where her work focused on the post-translational modification of ADP ribosylation factor 6, a protein involved in pathogen invasion. In addition to research, she served as a Chemistry Learning Center tutor, helping her peers master complex material through strategic study plans and discussions. 

Scott’s accolades include a first-place win at Spelman Research Day 2024 for her oral presentation, "Thermostability Profiling of a User-defined Peptide-MHC Library." Her extensive scientific training also includes a summer research stint at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Scott's career aspirations center on increasing diversity in science and advocating for underrepresented groups through biomedical research. "I’m preparing for a career that uplifts others through science, advocacy, and innovation." she said.
