The Division of Human Resources and Culture at Spelman College operates through a Centers of Expertise (COE) model designed to provide strategic leadership, specialized expertise, and responsive service to the College community. Each Center of Expertise focuses on a key area of human resources and culture, ensuring the College community receives expert guidance, collaborative partnership, and people-centered support.
- Talent Acquisition: Attracts, recruits, and supports exceptional talent through staff recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and transition programs that strengthen the employee experience and advance Spelman’s mission and unifying values.
- Total Rewards: Delivers comprehensive benefits, compensation, retirement, leave programs, and well-being programs that support a competitive employment experience.
- Organization Development: Cultivates employee growth and organizational effectiveness through leadership development, performance management, coaching, continuous learning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Employee Relations and Compliance: Fosters a professional, respectful, and compliant workplace by providing guidance, consultation, conflict resolution, and compliance support to employees and leaders across the College.
- HR Operations: Provides the operational foundation for Human Resources through HR technology, workforce data, service delivery, records management, process improvement, and analytics that support informed decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
