The Atlanta University Center's (AUC) Art History and Curatorial Studies Collective, housed within the Department of Art and Visual Culture at Spelman College, brings together students interested in pursuing interdisciplinary careers in the arts.
The fourth annual AUC Art Collective Symposium, titled "Black Art Futures," will take place from Thursday, February 20 - Friday, February 21, 2025. This year's symposium will explore Atlanta’s expanding role in the global art market. With world-renowned art institutions, leading artists, a growing gallery scene, influential curators, dedicated patrons, and a newly established art fair, Atlanta has become a key destination for collectors, curators, and dealers shaping the multi-billion-dollar art industry.
The event highlights Atlanta’s growing presence in the global art scene, featuring distinguished keynote speaker Pamela J. Joyner. Notable speakers include Alvah T. Beander of Melanin Art Appraisals, multidisciplinary artist Masud Olufani, September Gray of September Gray Fine Art Gallery, and Anthony Roberts of ArtMatch Art Advisory.
