Colm Mulcahy, Ph.D., professor of mathematics, was recently featured at an evening seminar with reception at Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC. The seminar featured Dr. Mulcahy’s work as a ‘mathemagician’ and was followed by a book signing session for his 2013 book, Mathematical Card Magic: Fifty-Two New Effects (published by AK Peters/CRC). On the same day, Dr. Mulcahy’s work was featured at the National Math Festival in Washington in the Smithsonian’s Discovery Theater. These presentations are among many that Dr. Mulcahy has been invited to give in the United States and Europe during the last year. He is also on the advisory council of the National Museum of Mathematics and is an active blogger (http://cardcolm.org), with columns featured in Scientific American, BBC News, and The Huffington Post.
