Spelbound Welcome

3 - 3:30 p.m. EST
The Office of Admissions and the rest of the campus community welcomes the class of 2025 to virtual Spelbound! We will kick off the event with an welcome address from several members of the Spelman community, including Spelman College’s President,  Mary Schimdt Campbell, Ph.D.

Class of 2025 Sister Chat (Students Only)

3:45 - 5 p.m. EST

The Class of 2025 will chat with the dean of students and current Spelmanites in a candid conversation about college life, living away from home, what to look forward to, how to prepare, and everything in between!


Spelmanite Live

5:30 - 7:30 p.m. EST

The Class of 2025 will interact with their fellow admitted students and current Spelmanites in various activities. Students will have an opportunity to win prizes.

MONDAY, APRIL 19, 2021

Curriculum Designed with You in Mind: Mock Lecture

3 - 3:45 p.m. EST

Dr. Rosalind Bass, chair, associate professor, and director of the Health Careers Program will lead a STEM-focused mock lecture to provide students with an inside look at Spelman’s unique academic environment.


What to Expect After You Accept

4-5 p.m. EST

An opportunity for admitted students and families to hear from campus partners who will assist new students throughout their transition and matriculation at Spelman. Representatives from Undergraduate Studies, Residence Life, Student Life, Career Development and Planning, and Health Services will be featured.


Financing Your Future: Financial Aid Information Session

5:15 - 6:15 p.m. EST

Hear from the director of Financial Aid and director of Admissions about your financial aid next steps.


Contemplative Practice – Meditation

6:25 - 7 p.m. EST

A resource for helping you to recharge and renew so that you have the energy to navigate everything that is happening. Led by Spelman professor Veta Goler, Ph.D., this session will allow you to meditate and engage in other practices that will enable you to access the peace, strength and creativity we need right now.


Curriculum Designed with You in Mind: Mock Lecture

3 - 3:45 p.m. EST

Michelle Hite, Ph.D., associate professor, Honors Program director and International Fellowships and Scholarships director, will lead an honors level mock lecture and discussion to provide students with an inside look at Spelman’s unique academic environment.


Begin with the End in Mind: Pathways Beyond the Gate

4 - 5 p.m. EST

Join graduate school counselor, LaTonya O’Neal and current students as they discuss their experiences on how they leveraged and took part in a variety of academic and professional opportunities such as study abroad, domestic exchange, dual degree, 3+3, and early assurance programs.


Curriculum Designed with You in Mind: Mock Lecture

5:15 - 6 p.m. EST 

Cynthia Neal Spence, Ph.D., Social Justice Fellows Program director, UNCF/Mellon Programs director and associate professor, will lead a sociology/anthropology-focused mock lecture to provide students with an inside look at Spelman’s unique academic environment. 


Sisterhood Beyond the Gates

6:15-7:30 p.m. EST

Join recent Spelman alumnae as they discuss their experience as a student and beyond.


Closing Session

7:30-7:45 p.m. EST
After three-days of events, the Office of Admissions would like share last thoughts and reminders as you make your final college decision. Additionally, there will also be additional opportunities to win prizes.
