AUC Summer Data Science Program 2022

A Summer Data Science Program for Incoming Spelman College, Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University Students

The Pre-Freshman Experience (PFx): Keeping Communities Safe through Data summer program offers incoming Atlanta University Center (AUC) students an opportunity to engage in data science before the start of their first year. Throughout the one-week program, students will explore applications of data science and learn about different career opportunities.

  • Seeking:  Motivated students with a passion for inquiry, investigations, and technology. All majors are welcome!

  • Program Dates:  Monday-Friday, July 18 - 22, 2022 (5 days)

  • Stipends:  Each participant will receive  $250 upon successful completion of the program

The College Prep Institute (CPI) is a two-week residential program for female high school students who are currently in the 9th and 10th grades and are seeking an exceptional experience to launch their college search process. Since 2005, CPI has been a leader in empowering hundreds of female high school students to achieve acceptance into the college of their choice.

The Institute is an intense academic program that features hands-on seminars, college preparation workshops, online sessions and lessons with homework on test preparation

College Prep Workshops
College search portfolio, career development, college application and admission, college etiquette, college financing (FAFSA, loans, scholarships)
Life Skills Seminars
Online resources, resume writing, critical thinking, relationship training
Leadership Development
Communication, conflict resolution, college search action plan
Test Prep Strategies
Two full length pretest and practice SAT, test prep math, test prep writing

Admission Policy

Spelman College, a Historically Black College whose missions is to serve high-achieving Black women, will consider for admission women students including students who consistently live and self-identify as women, regardless of their gender assignment at birth. Spelman does not admit male students, including students who self-identify and live consistently as men, regardless of gender assignment at birth. If a woman is admitted and transitions to male while a student at Spelman, the College will permit that student to continue to matriculate at and graduate from Spelman.

Application to a high school pre-college summer program is not an application for admission to the degree programs of Spelman College. No promises are made regarding admission to the first-year class. Parents/guardians must give their permission for students to participate in summer programs and activities.
