Georgia Women's Policy Institute Scholar - Maya Phillips, C'2023

Maya PhillipsMaya Phillips is a junior at Spelman College studying sociology. She is a member of the Spelman College Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program, Spelman’s chapter of the NAACP, and the “Sweet” Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Maya exercises her dedication to activism by leading In the Unlocked Minds Social Justice Book Club. After she earns her bachelor’s degree from Spelman, she intends to earn her master’s degree in Sociology. Though she is still vacillating career paths, she possesses a growing affinity to the fields of data science and public service.
