Georgia Women's Policy Institute Scholar - Jada McBeth, C'2024

Jada McBethJada McBeth is currently a sophomore at Spelman College, majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Cultural Studies and a minor in Spanish. McBeth has always had a passion for community outreach and advocacy, involving herself in any way she may.
Coming from the Bronx, New York, Jada has seen and personally knew the people who went through hardships that many organizations seek to alleviate, especially gender and sexuality equality. McBeth attended an all-girls high school where she participated in Generating Social Activism, bringing P-Flag to the entire school to educate the different grades about gender and sexuality. Additionally, raising money for organizations such as the Sylvia Rivera Project, which supports LGBTQ youth.

As McBeth now attends Spelman, she has joined Unlocked Minds, a book club with incarcerated women that tries to find ways to help women within the book club and advocate for the issues that arise for incarcerated women. She hopes to continue advocating for gender and sexuality injustices throughout her academic career.
