Bluford Healthcare Leadership Institute
The Bluford Healthcare Leadership Institute (BHLI) is 501 (c) 3, intense professional development program with a mission to eliminate health disparities among minority and vulnerable populations by cultivating a pipeline of culturally competent underrepresented scholars for leadership roles in healthcare. Through a series of experiential activities, analysis of healthcare issues with expert national presenters, site visits, and internships, the BHLI exposes scholars to today’s healthcare landscape and challenges the future leaders to develop innovative solutions and policies to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

They offer accessibility and social services including language and communications assistance, specialized senior care, social work, and veterans' health programs. Advocate Healthcare
Advocate Health Care is a faith-based nonprofit health system in Illinois. We’re dedicated to changing patient expectations by giving them easy access to all they need to stay well, live well and achieve outstanding treatment outcomes. In 2018, Advocate Health Care merged with Aurora Health Care of Wisconsin to form Advocate Aurora Health. And in 2022, Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health combined to create Advocate Health, the third-largest nonprofit integrated health system in the U.S.

Health Equity Innovation Challenge
Racial and social injustices and inequities have long plagued society and the health of communities of color across the United States. In 2021, Johnson & Johnson created the Health Equity Innovation Challenge as a part of the company’s commitment to help eradicate the public health threats of racial and social injustices by eliminating health inequities for people of color. The Challenge aims to support innovative solutions developed by local entrepreneurs, start-ups, innovators, and community-based organizations that have the potential to advance health equity.
