During her matriculation at Spelman, economics major Shannon Shaunice Simmons, C'2021, acted as a mentor with Gifted Girls of Grace, was a member of Future Business Leaders of Spelman, served as co-publicity chair and president of SKIRTS Inc. and as the SGA public relations intern. The Las Vegas, Nevada native also completed the FRESH - Freshman Reaching Excellence with Spelman's Help program.
Simmons has grown her makeup artistry business, Slay by Shaun, and acted as the key makeup artist for Miss Maroon and White and Miss Spelman and Court. She interned with Morehouse, as a PR/social media intern with RagCulture, and as a marketing intern with The Esteé Lauder Companies at Smashbox Cosmetics. She also studied abroad for two-weeks in Florence, Italy.
Post Graduate Plans
Following graduation, Simmons will be working as a presidential associate with Esteé Lauder in a two-year rotation before pursuing an MBA.
