Patricia Ventura, Ph.D. , Associate Professor in English, has received the American Studies Association-Japanese Association for American Studies Japan Residency and Fellowship. Ventura received one of only three awards in a highly competitive process funded by the
US government's Japan-United States Friendship Commission to present the latest work in the field of American Studies.
The fellowship involves Dr. Ventura presenting her work in a keynote talk, giving responses to Japanese scholars in their research in American Studies, and attending a series of events oriented around scholarly exchange organized by the Japanese Association for American Studies (JAAS). The ultimate goal is to create and promote relationships between US and Japanese scholars of American Studies.
