Pushpa Parekh Continues Publishing Inspiring Literary Work

Pushpa N. Parekh, Ph.D.

Pushpa N. Parekh, Ph.D. Pushpa Parekh, Ph.D., professor of English and director of Spelman's African Diaspora and the World program, is a prolific writer. Her recent literary publications and recognitions include the following:

  • "Intersections with Feminist Disability Theory in South Asian Women’s Writing”
  • "Teaching Anglophone South Asian Women’s Writing," a MLA Options for Teaching series edited by Deepika Bahri and Filippo Menozzi. Chapter. (MLA, June 2021).

Dr. Parekh is also noted for her creative writing which includes the recent poem, “My Valentine,” featured in the annual anthology, FROM THE HEART, Toronto, Canada, May 2021. She also penned, “ My Valentine,” in THE BECKINDALE POETRY REVIEW (Featuring the Best in New Contemporary Poetry), Toronto, Canada, Feb 2021.

In 2021, Dr. Parkeh was awarded Elite Writer Status 2021 from the Poetry Yearbook, Poetry Publications International, Canada.
