Cynthia H. Bowman, C’91, will continue to drive strategy and leadership in her new appointment as chief diversity and inclusion (D&I) and corporate social responsibility officer at Bank of America.
Before Bowman joined Bank of America in 2007, she received an additional B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology in industrial engineering and earned her MBA in organization behavior and operations from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Through her work, leading programs, initiatives and policies that support the bank’s workplace and recruitment strategies, Bowman has garnered various awards. Such accolades include being recognized as one of "North America’s Most Influential D&I Leaders" by Hive Learning in 2021, being named as Black Enterprise’s "Top Executives in Corporate Diversity" from 2017-2019 and being acknowledged as one of 2019’s "Top 100 HR Influencers" by Engagedly.
Additionally, she serves as a Board of Trustees member for the Midwestern Region of the Boys & Girls Club of America and the Forte Foundation. She is also a member of the 30% Club steering committee and the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) advisory board.
