Four members of Spelman’s arts faculty will share an inside look at their process during a panel discussion hosted by the annual Chicago Ideas Festival. Choreographer T. Lang, founding chair and associate professor of the Department of Dance, will join Aku Kadago, chair of the Department of Theater & Performance, Myra Greene, vice chair of the Department of Art & Visual Culture, and Distinguished Professor Julie Dash for an intimate conversation on how they are collectively breaking barriers in the art world.
The discussion titled “Changing the Lens: Lessons from Spelman’s Award-Winning Artists” will take place during the festival from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the Edlis Neeson Theater at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art. “Chicago Ideas aims to be the world’s leading catalyst for inspiring, connecting, and empowering curious people in order to make the world a better place,” said Vanessa Buenger, Chicago Ideas director of marketing and content. “This is an unparalleled opportunity for our community to hear and learn from these award-winning artists.
