The Harvard Model United Nations, sponsored by Harvard University, is one of the most internationally diverse college-level Model United Nations Conferences. For the past 14 years, Spelman students have joined the more than 2,000 students from over 100 countries to simulate the work of the actual United Nations organization located in the United States. The conference is held in a different international location each year.

Jeanne Meadows, Ph.D., chair and associate professor of international studies and International Affairs Center director, serves as faculty advisor for Spelman Model UN. For the past four years Charissa Threat, Ph.D., assistant professor of history, has been responsible for in-country logistics and photography.
